Trail Monkey Jersey events are open to competitors of all abilities over the age of 17 years (unless otherwise stated).
Unfortunately many of our courses are not suitable for wheelchair athletes. Competitors are not allowed to compete with dogs or buggies (unless prior consent is given). For all races no entries can be accepted on the day, unless stated on individual race/event webpage or arranged with Paul. Please complete the relevant medical details on the back of the race number.
Terms and Conditions of entry – Waiver.
I wish to enter this event, organised by Trail Monkey Jersey (the organisers) and declare that I am or will be aged 17 or over on the day of the event and that, if I am aged less than 18 when I apply, my parent/carer/guardian has approved and countersigned my application. I understand that participating in events is potentially hazardous, and that I should not enter and participate unless I am medically able and properly trained. I declare that I will not participate in the race if not (as far as I am aware) medically fit for the required distance on the day. In consideration of the acceptance of this entry, I assume full and complete responsibility for any injury or accident which may occur while I am travelling to or from the event, during the event, or while I am on the premises of the event. I am also aware of and assume all risks associated with participating in this event, including but not limited to falls, contact with other participants, effect of weather, traffic, and conditions of the road, track or trail. I, for myself and my heirs and executors, hereby waive, release and forever discharge the event organisers, sponsors, promoters, and each of their agents, representatives, successors and assigns, and all other persons associated with the event, for all my liabilities, claims, actions, or damages that I may have against them arising out of or in any way connected with my participation in this event. I understand that this waiver includes any claims, whether caused by negligence, the action or inaction of any of the above parties, or otherwise.
Most races do not offer any form of refund if a runner decides to cancel their place because of injury, illness, lack of training or change of plan. There are many other instances of higher priced services, such as plane, train or theatre tickets where no refunds can be given for cancellation in these circumstances. However, in fairness to race entrants who cannot compete for whatever reason, it is our policy to offer a 75% refund up to 3 months before the start of our Marathon and Ultra Races, up to a month before the start of our Half Marathon races and up to a week before the start of our 5km and 10km races.
After the above refund threshold, we offer entrants a deferral to another Trail Monkey event up to a month before our Marathon and Ultra Races, up to a week before our Half Marathon Events and up to a week before our 5km and 10km events.
Deferred entries can only be deferred to events within the next calendar year, they cannot be exchanged for a refund, and neither can they be transferred to another entrant.
Transferring Race Places
We sometimes receive requests to transfer race places from one runner to another. But like plane tickets, each entry is personally registered to a specific named individual. Reallocating race numbers and amending data held our system can take up considerable time and administration, and we would have to significantly increase the cost of all entries to cover this. We will attempt to do this on a best endeavours basis, but will be done case by case. If you wish to transfer your race place to another participant this must be done in writing to; Trail Monkey Jersey. THIS CAN NOT BE DONE ON RACE WEEK as there is already so much to do.
We reserve the right to refuse or cancel applications, including duplicate applications, or alter the date of the event, the course route or distance.
